Trigger Types

Overview

Triggers are the starting point of every automation. They define when an automation runs. FitSuite offers several trigger types to cover the most common coaching workflows.

Client Triggers

  • Client Added — fires when a new client is created, either manually or via self-registration.
  • Client Updated — fires when a client’s profile information changes (e.g., goal, weight, tags).
  • Client Archived — fires when you archive a client.

Check-In Triggers

  • Check-In Submitted — fires when a client submits a check-in. You can add conditions to filter by check-in type (weekly, progress photos, measurements).
  • Check-In Missed — fires when a client hasn’t submitted a check-in by the expected date.

Payment Triggers

  • Payment Received — fires when a successful payment is processed.
  • Payment Failed — fires when a charge attempt is declined.
  • Subscription Canceled — fires when a client’s subscription ends.

Plan Triggers

  • Plan Assigned — fires when a workout or nutrition plan is assigned to a client.
  • Plan Completed — fires when a client finishes all scheduled sessions or days in a plan.

Date-Based Triggers

  • Scheduled Date — fires on a specific date and time you choose (e.g., every Monday at 8 AM).
  • Relative Date — fires X days before or after a reference point, such as a client’s start date or plan end date.

Custom Event Triggers

  • Webhook Received — fires when FitSuite receives a webhook from an external service, useful for advanced integrations.

💡 Tip: Combine triggers with conditions for precision. For example, use “Check-In Missed” with a condition of “more than 2 days overdue” to only nudge clients who are genuinely late — not those who check in a few hours after the deadline.
